Covid positive tests: Both your wife and you should be on quarantine for 14-16 days. Your "negative test" does not mean Covid is not present, and your symptoms may be indicative of positive transmission. If symptoms include shortness of breath or respiratory problems, evaluation in an ED may be necessary, with hospitalization if symptoms worsen.

COVID 19: Average incubation period for COVID-19 is 2 to14 days (but as little as 1 day), median time is 4-5 days. You may have tested too early to accurately obtain a positive result. Retesting may help to determine if your symptoms are due to COVID 19.
