Fertility ?'s: If donor sperm is being used from a "fertility clinic", and this use is appropriately timed to coincide with ovulation, it is usually best to have this applied vaginally at the clinic where the donor sperm is produced to avoid delays which could reduce the success of the insemination.

Timing: It would be best to obtain the sperm specimen at the clinic so that it does not have to be transported. If that is not possible, the one hour interval is safe, but try to keep the specimen close to body temperature. If it is in a small container, it can be kept in a pocket where it will not cool.
