I have not had a period in a little over a year. prior to this, it was super heavy and irregular until i started birth control. once i stopped the birth control my period went away. however, this morning i got some spotting but nothing to crazy. why?

"No period" ?'s: A history od "heavy and irregular" periods may be due to polycystic ovarian disease (PCOS) as well as other causes. Bcp's taken as directed should create mild bleeding in the 7 days of taking the placebo pill, but your cycle should resume unless a pituitary cause of amenorrhea exists ( like PCOS). See your gyn physician for an exam and pelvic ultrasound to determine the cause.
