Prevention is key: What you have is known as post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. It is actually quite common with atopic dermatitis. The key is to prevent flare-ups, because once you have the hyperpigmentation, it is difficult to get rid of it. Skin bleaches dont work well at all. And also, ALWAYS use sunblock if going to be outdoors at all with exposed skin.
