A member asked:

Today i ate abit to much sugar about 84g. would that increase my risk of gestational diabetes? i'm 18 weeks so i have a few more weeks before i go for the gestational diabetes test?

Diabetes risk ?'s: Carbohydrates in general should be limited in pregnancy, but occasional excess will not "cause" gestational diabetes. Ask your OB physician about nutritional information and limit the weight gain accordingly. There are some risks in diabetic pregnancies, but managed appropriately, these risks can be minimized.
