No: The incubation period-time from contact to development of symptoms is typically less than 5 days but could be as long as a month. It does not lie dormant for months.

Get tested: Half of all women with gonorrhea and 10% of men don't show symptoms. This does not mean the infection is not active. It can be spread, and can infect others as well as travelling throughout your body and causing problems to your reproductive tract, to your kidneys, brain and other major organs, all without you knowing you have it. You should be tested regularly for STD's if you are sexually active
