Is hypoglycemia common in non-diabetic persons?

Not usually, but...: Hypoglycemia is an unusual symptom unless you have inadequate calorie intake, excessive calorie use (like long distance runners), and/or lack of stores. such as if you are very skinny/underweight. The body is actually quite good at maintaining normal glucose levels. You have to be pretty mean to your body to get past this. Most commonly, I saw it in wrestlers not eating to make weight.

Not at all: Hypoglycemia is not common at all. It takes at least 36 hours of fasting before healthy individual develops hypoglycemia. In contrast to common misunderstanding, hypoglycemia is quite unusual in diabetics unless they receive insulin more than they need. There are number of rare metabolic diseases leading to hypoglycemic events such as nonketotic hypoglycemia in childhood.
