Bcp: The general idea is that birth control pill has estrogen and progesterone. The pills with the hormone prevent you uterus from bleeding. The last seven pills of a package are placebo (no hormones) causing withdraw bleeding due to lack of hormones in the pills. Talk to your doctor there are exceptions to the rule.
