It can happen: A missed period does not always imply that pregnancy is present. Women can miss periods for reasons such as failure to ovulate, ovarian cysts, peri menopause, thyroid and other medical conditions, excessive weight loss or gain, etc. The question then becomes why? If the pregnancy test is negative, see a GYN MD if no period in 45 days or more for the best answer.
