It can. Sometimes.: Having sex will delay a fertile woman's by about 10-11 months if she gets pregnant from having sex. In some cases, her periods will return sooner, such as if she does not have a full 9-month pregnancy. If not pregnant, having sex does not affect one's periods, because one's uterus does not know she is having sex and thus won't behave any differently regardless of whether she is having sex or not.
