ARVC: ARVC involves replacement of the muscle tissue with fat and fibrosis tissue. Tissue samples should have special stains. Since it can be at different places of the RV, particularly in the free wall, the examiner should be made aware of possible ARVC. Over and Under diagnosis is of concern. Gene mutations have been found in ~60% of ARVC patients, so it may that this could be additionally helpful.
