I have been having pain in my ribs on the right side! and the area that is painful is also super itchy. we did get a new mattress...what could this be?

My first hunch is shingles, which typically causes a rash, pain and sometimes itch, affecting a single dermatome (one area related to a single nerve). If the problem is a new sleeping position, try putting a pillow between your knees or under knees at night.
