My 12 year old son says he feels a "tingly" feeling on his right ribcage. no pain or itching. he often holds his hand, or a blanket on his right side and says that feels better. such a strange thing. no other symptoms i can see. what is it?

Chest wall : If there was no injury, a fracture is not likely. A local inflammation of the lining of the lung or of the chest wall, pinched nerve are among the causes of this sensation. NSAID PRN. Since it improves with slight pressure, the cause is more likely to be related to the chest wall rather than lungs. Monitor and if there is worsening, shortness of breath or chest pain, please see your pediatrician
