See dermatologist: There are a few otc meds available for head lice, but I would suggest seeing a dermatologist to confirm a dx and be txed if necessary. As amale, you can get a very short haircut for starters and then proceed with tx , assuming you truly do have head lice. Also, it might also be a good idea if you have all of your body checked for lice, since there are types of lice present in groin/clothes.

Lice: Having the right diagnosis is helpful . If certain, using a drugstore preparation as directed on the package can be effective. Otherwise, see your internist or pediatrician for an in person exam.
