A member asked:

I have a burning pain in my right shoulder. it has been going on for months and now it's getting really bad. have used pain meds prescribed by my doctor, but the pain keeps coming back?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Recurrent pain: When a treated pain does not go away, it suggests that something is NOT healing, or a different problem exists. For the 1st, are you using the shoulder for work or exercise? continued strain prevents healing. For the 2nd, x rays may be needed and/or blood tests to look for pathology. PMR or Ortho doc’s or your FP can examine. In the meantime try Voltaren gel to shoulder. Good luck
