I do not have covid but have a question related to covid. when i was younger i got hit in my nose. my ent said that my nasal cavity is collapsed and she could see the damage. would you suggest the normal test or saliva test for covid?

Precaution: There have been a few cases who have had prior nasal surgery where deep penetration by the nasal swab resulted in breaking a barrier and caused leakage of cerebral spinal fluid and potentially causing serious intracranial infection. Accordingly, in your case I recommend only the saliva test.

COVID 19: A posterior nasopharynx PCR swab may cause problems. Anterior nasal swab, oropharyngeal swab or saliva testing may pose less of a risk if you have significant deformity of the interior of the noses.
