Change OCP: Oral contraceptives have two hormones that can cause side effects. These include weight gain, breast tenderness, nausea and spotting. Pills with high levels of estrogen can increase appetite and promote fluid or water retention. Talk to your prescribing Dr about switching to an OCP like Yasmin that does not have this side effect.
