For the past few years, i occasionally spot lightly between periods. usually this happens at the midway point or a week before period. i am currently on lowogestrol. could the low hormone levels be why im spotting? ive been on it for 5 yrs.

Normal: Menstrual variation on low dose hormonal contraceptives can be normal. As your hormones fluctuate because of stress, exercise, weight gain/loss and lack of sleep, you may have spotting mid period. If it is uncomfortable or you really want it to stop, talk to your dr about changing to a pill that has slightly higher levels of hormone to prevent breakthrough bleeding.
