Not always: There are many reasons to order an xray, ct or even both. The cystoscope only sees the lining of the bladder. Ct will show virtually all renal or bladder stones, and a plain xray helps deterimine where those stones are is lithotripsy is an option. Most people with blood in the urine (hematuria) get a combination of 2 or sometimes all 3. It depends what this issue is.
