What is causing my total protein to consistently increase with each lab i have done? it was flagged high for the first time recently, and this is when the trend was discovered. 8.6 last month. 8.4 now (globulin has come down in the last few weeks).

Elevated protien: Usually it is just reflective of your diet, however can be elevated in certain diseases, specifically multiple myeloma or amyloid disease.

Need more info: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, your state of hydration may account for the variations.
