Which type ?: I believe there are in excess of 100 strains of HPV.This includes a common wart strain. There are 2-4 strains associated only with genital warts & 7 or more genital strains associated with cervical/oral & anal cancer. Once exposed at any point in life you can carry antibodies to specific strains for life. Strains are tissue specific, living only in the tissues they are known for.

Agree with Dr. F: Both of you should get HPV vaccine to prevent infection with more serious strains of HPV.
