Im 42 and ive been taking lo loestrin since the birth of my 4th child 5 years ago. i use it to regulate my periods and lessen the flow. ive been getting light periods every 2 weeks for the last 2 months or so. is this normal and should i stop taking it? periods

Aging & periods: At age 42, you are getting closer to the perimenopausal age range as well as long term use of the loestrin which can minimize menstrual flow. Intermenstrual bleeding every 2 weeks might be a sign that something else is causing the bleeding such as fibroids or endometrial issues. Contact your GYN for evaluation who can test for these conditions or abnormalities before discontinuing your loestrin.
