Strain possible: A strain of neck or upper back could definitely cause the type of pain you mention. That type of pain should last maybe a few days to a week. If the swallowing becomes more painful r difficult you should be evaluated by Dr, or if you develop numbness or weakness of Right arm

Upper back -Shoulder blade pain, pinching and strain. Sore sides of the neck. Bending the neck down increases the pinching and pain in shoulder blades. So times this leads to headache on the back of the head.
