I accidentally swallowed the tab off of a soda can yesterday. do i wait it out and hope it passes or see a doctor?

Wait: If you swallowed it yesterday it is probably past your stomach now and little you can really do unless you start to get symptoms including abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting or other symptoms. Only if you get symptoms would I consult a doctor. The tab will probably pass through your GI tract without problem and be excreted in your stool. If you get sick they can check you with an Xray.

More info: Please post again with more information. Was this the pull tab- which has thickened edges which are not shartp. Or was this the flat, circular, scored part of the lid that folds inside the can that has sharp edges? I can't imagine you swallowed both pieces if it was the type of tab usually often in USA?
