Claudication: Pain after walking may be hip related, but since it seems to be in both, more suggestive of claudication. The muscle and nerves are demanding more activity than the body can allow. Decreased blood flow or nerve compression can cause this. Ask you dad to schedule an appointment with his doc to examine the causes and then develop a successful management strategy. Good luck
