Depends on doctor: Linzess is a special medicine for chronic constipation, and works well. There are tiny beads inside the capsule, and a person can open the capsule, but whether that should be done or not depends on one's doctor's advice. A patient needs to follow her doctor's instructions on whether or not to just swallow the tiny beads, how much water to take them with, and whether before or after meals.
