Good morning. my bird bit my lip. it is bleeding still after an hour, deep but not wide. do i go straight to an emergency room or rather to my normal dr?

Deep Wound: The puncture may require sutures to heal properly. Your physician should have no problem taking care of this, but urgent care is also a good choice.

Either: Either would work.As would a Plastic Surgeon or an Oral Surgeon if ou wanted to minimize scarring. You may need sutures and/or a tetanus booster.

Bird bite: OH my, how big a bird was this that bit your lip?? If bleeding has not stopped with pressure, this needs medical attention. Going to an emergency room makes sense or if your doctor or an oral surgeon can see you asap. Wound will need to be cleaned, probably sutured and tetanus status needs to be assessed.
