Risks vs Benefits: The concern with radiation of any sort, whether it is from sunlight or a ct, is the added risk of cancer. With any test, you have to weigh the risks vs benefits. Since heart disease is the #1 killer, the benefit of your heart caths and x rays are probably > than the risks. That said, always ask your doc what your options are. Sometimes an ultrasound or MRI can be ordered instead=no radiation.
