Poison control center numbers, or poison information center numbers, vary from state to state, or is there one central number?

Only one I use: The site for the Nations Capital poison Control Center is htpps:// www.poison.org or 1-800-222-1222. It is the only center I ever use. You can go online for immediate answers to frequently asked questions or to identify common pills. You can also call in & discuss issues with someone there.

Varies by location: The United States has one number 800-222-1222 for poison information, but the 911 emergency number is used for emergencies. In Canada, 911 is for emergencies, and the Poison Information Centre numbers vary by province. Quebec is 800-463-5060, Ontario is 800-268-9017, and BC is 800-567-8911. In the UK the medical information or advice number is 111, and the true emergency number is 999. (July 2020)
