Progestin based: Contraceptives come in several formulations: combination pills which contain estrogen and progestin, barrier methods which contain no hormones and progestin based contraceptives (depo, minipill) which contain only preogestins. The Barrier methods and progestin only methods will not interfere with breastfeeding. Estrogen may reduce your milk production. Talk to your DR.

Based on individual: There are many BC types that are routinely used during BF, but these are based on a thorough review of your personal medical & family history. I would ask the doc that knows you best what your options are and proceed as needed.
