Basics: Any such changes, discharge, cramps, etc, are things you should share with your OB doc at your convenience. The issue may be limited to the lower vaginal tract & not bother the baby but could be a problem. They may want you to come in for a health check and testing. Early labor or loss are issues best answered when they know more.
