Hi i stopped taking the 2 monthly contraceptive injection after 16 years. i was due for an injection in early april. my breasts are swollen. will they return to normal after my hormones settle & how long will it be? i am 50 years old & not pregnant.

Need to examine: It is not clear why would your breasts would swell up on discontinuation of hormonal contraceptive. However, onset of menopause will cause further diminution of estrogen and reduce the size of breasts. If you develop any discomfort, it would be prudent to see your doctor for an evaluation.
