Yes: Cat bites can be very serious because of the type of bacteria in their mouths that can cause infected tissues. Therefore any cat bite should be thoroughly cleansed( not rubbed too vigorously). and evaluated preferably in the hospital emergency room. Antibiotics and tetanus booster may be given.
