A member asked:

How soon after exposure to covid could a person test positive for the virus? i'm not referring to when symptoms appear. i understand symptoms can take several days to two weeks to appear, but what about just testing positive, symptoms or not?

Depends!: Sometimes, in the first day or so of mild symptoms, a COVID-19 PCR test may be negative because there is not a big enough viral load to cause the test to react. At least this was so with the first PCR tests. It is prudent, if you have symptoms and a negative test to consider repeating the test in day or so.
