A member asked:

Don't have covid symptoms but have a weird uncomfort (no-pain) in the throat. no irritation, soreness, or cough but pain in the extreme back left side of tongue - maybe like inflammation. do you think i m infected? or i m doubting/stressing much?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Throat discomfort: Lack of diffuse throat soreness, fever, persistent dry cough makes a covid19 infection unlikely at this time. I recommend gargling with warm, salt water, sucking on zinc lozenges and drinking adequate amounts of room temperature water. You could get tested if you've been exposed to someone with covid. Call your MD for instructions if more classic symptoms develop or if you think you need testing.
