It is extremely painful and it constantly feels as if i am on the brink of having to urinate constantly, however, the bladder seems empty. there is no blood in the urine as far as i can see, however, it is visible on the paper?

Get eval: That sounds miserable. The sensation of needing to urinate even if you don't really need to (urgency) & going often (frequency) can occur with urinary tract inflammation or infection. Bleeding does not need to occur for inflammation or infection. If you haven't been medically evaluated yet- please do so.
