A member asked:

I have a hard painful lump around my vaginal area. and i looked it up and it comes back as a cyst. so i'm wondering what i should do about it??

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Vaginal cyst: There are many types of vaginal cysts, including inclusion cyst, Gartner cyst, and Bartholin cyst. Most vaginal cysts are benign lesions and often do not cause any symptoms, but women over age 40 should see their doctor about any new vaginal lump because some can be cancer. Cysts can become infected, so see a (GYN) doctor if you have pain, fever, nausea or vomiting as these are signs of infection.
