See a Dr ASAP: Sudden refusal to walk/ severe pain can be the hallmark symptoms of toxic synovitis, septic arthritis, or infectious arthritis. The Dr will thoroughly examine the child including his hips, knees and feet and may do blood tests, imaging or even a fluid aspiration of the joint to determine if there is something that needs treatment. Do not delay. Untreated joint infection can cause severe problems.
