COVID 19: If the room is small, crowded and poorly ventilated, that would increase risk of transmission even if you weren't close to him. Was he wearing a mask? Even if he was wearing a mask, were you within 6 feet of him for ten minutes or more? If he coughed or sneezed near you, the ten minutes doesn't necessarily apply. The response depends on more information about the contact.
