See a DR: Since it hurts to walk, I would take the 2 yr old to see his Pediatrician. A thorough exam can determine whether there is any residual problem that requires further evaluation. Short term muscle pain can be treated with acetaminophen every 4-6 hours. Use alternating warm and cool compresses on his lower back to provide relief.
