A member asked:

In radiology or ophthalmology what does a left ophthalmic artery of anomalous origin mean as it could not be clearly seen?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Definitions: Anomalous origin may sound confusing but it simply means it exists but comes out from an area different than most. The radiologists/ophthalmologists all examine numerous films & become accustomed to a "normal" pattern. Anything that differs, art any percentage of the films would be labeled "anomalous'. This is like having webbed toes=they're anomalous.
