Not peak flu season: Flu Vaccine is modified every year to address the mutations that arise year after year. Some years, the vaccine is right on target and includes the mutations that are prevalent that year, other years they are not. This past year the vaccine did not closely match the virus. Cumulative vaccination over 10 years allows for a person to develop immunity to most of the mutations. Vaccinate in August.

The vaccine most of your family should be updating is pertussis. Immunity to pertussis wanes over time and the disease is very common and can cause significant problems for babies under 6 months old.
