A member asked:

What does it mean when one ovary is just forming eggs and the other is at the flushing out stage. and it is constant cramps and causes irregular periods because of it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Period irregular ?: Ovaries produce usually only one egg mature enough for fertilization, and this may occur in either ovary depending on which ovary contains the most mature egg at the time of ovulation. With cramping and irregular periods there may be other factors causing this, so consult with your gyn physician, as if pregnancy is not desired, low dose oral bcp's may alleviate your symptoms.
