A member asked:

In my blood test my tsh(thyroid stimulating harmone) is showing 5.8.so i wan to know what it indicates and what are its side effects and what precautions must i have to take?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

See below: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, you are likely to have thyroid deficiency and may need medication to replace the hormone. Wish you good health!
