Pain should resolve: Your pain should resolve if you increase your fluid intake and continue with pain meds as prescribed. You could have had a small stone that passed before the ct scan was done. At 26 yrs old, you should not already have 4 kidney stones. I recommend visiting a urologist for a possible metabolic evaluation to reduce or delay future stone episodes.

See below: It could be infection. Do you have fever or abnormal urine test. Also, there is an uncommon phenomenon where the stones can block what's called the infundibulum of the calyces. The calyces are the small draining units that drain into the infundibulum. Even without the stone blocking the ureter, infundibular block may cause pain & not seen on ct as obstruction as these draining units are too small.
