I had a mirena inserted 2 months ago and now have breast pain and tenderness. it looks like there is some kind of bruising or dark reddish lines at the bottom of my breasts and they are larger and feel noticeably heavier. should i be concerned?

Mirena IUD ?'s: If you used oral bcp's prior to the Mirena, your normal hormonal cycle has much higher levels of estrogen/progesterone than the oral bcp's, and breast tenderness can be a result. Sometimes the IUD has been pushed by uterine contractions, and pregnancy is possible. If your period is delayed, obtain a serum HCG test to be certain.
