A member asked:

I have a feeling this might be related to psoriasis as these symptoms come and go depending on stress level. it has been persistent for the last couple of weeks and its the first time i have a patch where no hair is growing.

Can call Dr on video: One's primary care doctor can check for medical causes (to decide if amount of hair loss is more than normal). If no cause is found, then one can see a dermatologist, like one specializing in hair loss, psoriasis. Medical causes may include: hormonal problems (low thyroid), seborrhea, alopecia areata, stressful illness. Other causes: genetic male or female pattern baldness, telogen effluvium, etc.
