If symptoms persist: So it is not unusual for children to have mild transient pains. The things to make you concerned are persistent pain that lasts for days or gets worse or is accompanied by fevers, chills or swelling. If you son has any of those symptoms or his pain does go away with some children's Tylenol, it's time to see your pediatrician.
