Do sea buckthorn oil capsules interfere with birth control pills in any way?

Not known: Sea Buckthorn is a natural product and studies studies comparing it's effects on most drugs are not available. it may have some benefits in atopic dermatitis. It may slow blood clotting and may increase the chance of bruising or bleeding when taken with other medications that slow clotting such as aspirin or plavix. It should be discontinued prior to any surgery.

Should have : no decrease in effectiveness from this combination. However, all contraceptives have small % failure rate, usually 1 or 2 % with pills taken every day.
