Normal. : Joint popping is normal. Not a sign of pathology. If it is not associated with pain, then don't worry about it.

Snap, crackle, pop: My first thought is soft tissue rheumatism - muscles or snapping tendons. It is hard for bone to move around especailly since there is no pain described. You have to consider what is able to move with motion. Certain bones can move also so we need to be certain what is actually popping. As dr konos says it may not be a major danger.
